STUDENT REPORTER NEEDED - ONLINE PUBLICATION, CA

A California company would like to hire an
independent student reporter from Texas to
conduct 5 two-hour interviews of local
professionals for publication on the Internet.
This project requires significant discretion and
judgment from the reporter in order to find and
select appropriate interview candidates, ask
appropriate initial and follow-up questions,
manage interview time, etc. The interviewer will
be responsible for all aspects of the work. The
deliverable work product will be a MP3 recording
of the interview (you must provide recording
device) and a single proof read of the subsequent
transcript of the interview (which we will
provide) to ensure accuracy. This project will
provide the selected student with opportunities
to (1) demonstrate significant work product
(around 100 pgs of print), initiative, and
passion for journalism to future employers, (2)
do work worth doing, and (3) earn some money for
the effort. We will pay $250 for the 5
interviews. Interested students should send a
brief email highlighting credentials/experience
and desire/ability to perform this assignment and
a phone number to Michael at
reporters@owlnotes.com by 5pm on Friday, December
9, 2005. Reporters will be selected the
following week, with the work due by January 27,
2006.
